After-School All-Stars & Lifetime Adventures go to Lake Mead!
The After-School All-Stars Students in the Lifetime Adventures Program went to Lake Mead on March 19th. The day was beautiful with calm winds and moderate temperatures. The National Park Service and Forever Earth (UNLV Program) combined efforts with the After-School All-Stars to make the day especially fun, exciting, and educational for all. The students learned about water quality and water testing at Lake Mead. Plus, the kids got to ride on a wonderful house boat courtesy of Forever Earth. Additional activities included: Hoover Dam history, fish identification, and hiking at the Kingman wash / lakeshore. Many Thanks to Jenny Martin, Hal & Tamy Edwards, Captain Larry, Dave Block, Daphne, and Ranger Sky. Also, look in your local VIEW Newspaper next week for complete coverage. Some photos are included below from the field trip.
